I started out at as small Sankukai club in Lye, Stourbridge under Sensei Sarah Barnbrook in the Mid 1980’s. Moved then to E.S.K.O. Stourbridge Sankukai Karate Club, under Sensei Gary Painting 5th Dan from 1988 to 2002 achieving my 3rd Dan in Sankukai Karate. 

Senseis that I have trained under being John Kane , Gary Painting, Derek Kirkham , Graham Handy & Yamanaka Sensei (Goju Ryu) .

I then diversified over many years and became multi skill trained under different styles , training under various national and international instructors and became squad trained for national events/open and club organised to kata and kumate team level.

Coaching level trained with 1st aid certificate.

In 2022, I approached BSKA Wombourne to return to Traditional Karate and was received with open arms, becoming a Sensei in 2023 again, after being happy I had got back up to speed. I can also be found on the Dan grade list on the BSKA website now too.

I look forward to coaching the school with my vast experience and taking a leading part in the new Kumite sessions introduced in 2023.
